Community Events: Rue Pigalle Panel Discussion

Whether you’re a current TSA student, an alum shaping your practice, a Rue Pigalle member, or part of Toronto’s vibrant creative community, this event offers tangible insight into what it takes to build a sustainable career in craft and design.

Now more than ever, creative communities must come together to share knowledge and support one another’s growth. When we create spaces for collaboration and connection, we open the door to lasting success for individuals and the future of craft and design itself. This event is a celebration of that spirit: a collaboration between two organizations deeply invested in nurturing talent and building a stronger, more connected creative landscape.

The panel brings together leading voices across disciplines – from acclaimed makers to curators, gallerists, and business professionals – each offering candid perspectives and tangible tools. Our panellists include: Art Consultant Dénis Longchamps, Artistic Director Deborah Wang of DesignTO, Gallery-Owner Jennifer Kerbel-Poirier of Vessels + Sticks, Business Advisor & Strategist Elaine Pantel, and Ceramic Artist Paula Murray.

Topics will include:

- Crafting business models that work for artists

- Building visibility through self-promotion

- Navigating relationships with galleries and curators

- Engaging audiences through community and public platforms

- Trends in international craft markets

Following the hour-long discussion, join us for a Q&A and networking session – an opportunity to exchange ideas, forge new connections, and find support within a community that shares your passion for craft and for making. We will be streaming the panel discussion live for our audience based outside of Toronto. Please RSVP for the Zoom link.

This is a free event, but space is limited.
